THIS MACHINE STEMS FROM A LUCKY INTUITION THAT RESPONDS TO THE PRACTICAL NEED TO BESTOW ADDED VALUE TO LEATHERS ALREADY FINISHED BY STRETCHING THEM ON A WIRE FRAME HELD IN POSITION BY CLIPS AND THEN KEEPING THEM LAID IN A HEATED ENVIRONMENT AT A CONTROLLED TEMPERATURE FOR THE TIME NECESSARY TO GAIN A SMOOTHER, SOFTER AND ROUNDER TOUCH FEEL. AT THE SAME TIME A FLATTENING OF THE GRAIN IS OBTAINED AND THE DEFECTS AND FOLDS BROUGHT IN AS A RESULT OF PREVIOUS PROCESSES ARE ELIMINATED THUS CARRYING GREAT AESTHETIC BENEFITS. LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST, IMPORTANT SURFACE GAINS ARE REALIZED AND SETTLED (ON AVERAGE 1.5 - 1.8% ON THE FINISHED GOODS AND 4-6% ON THE CRUST). THE CUTTING YIELD ON AUTOMATIC MACHINES IS ALSO CONSIDERABLY IMPROVED.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

• drying tunnel heated by steam, diathermic oil or by fireboxes and burners suitable to natural gas, LPG or diesel fuel
• 4, 8 or 12 high efficiency electro-fans with air loop recirculation
• It is available in a 50 or 60 frame configuration
• ergonomic working station without safety risks
• frame size suitable for all types of leathers and skins, from whole to half bovine hides and calves passing through splits, sheep and goat skins and muttons; special versions for alligator and crocodile or exotic skins in general are by all means available
• pneumatic expansion of the frames either manually adjustable or directly from the control panel
• modulating control of both temperature and relative humidity with damp air exhauster
• productivity ranges from 60 to over 180 hides or skins/hour depending on the articles and relative size

THIS EVOLUTION REPRESENTS A MILESTONE IN THE DRYING AND CONDITIONING TECHNOLOGY FOR LEATHER. THANKS TO THE CONTROLLED INTAKE OF SATURATED STEAM GENERATED BY AN APPROPRIATE STAND-ALONE UNIT THAT IS THEN SPREAD INSIDE THE DRYING OVEN, ALL THE ADVANTAGES BROUGHT BY THE MACH ARE ENHANCED FURTHER AND THE SENSATION EFFECT, NAMELY THE TACTILE PROPERTIES, THE TOUCH-FEEL, THE SMOOTH AND SILKY APPEARANCE OF THE SURFACE, THE FULLNESS OF THE GRAIN AND THE SOFTNESS OF THE LEATHER REACH TO A LEVEL NEVER SEEN BEFORE.

ADD TO THIS:

• the grain is free of wrinkles, folds and bad break due to previous processes such as dry milling, with or without the addition of fatliquors or touch modifiers
• perfect superficial flatness which is of great help for eventual subsequent processes such as embossing
• improved area yield thanks to the pre-shrink effect ensured by expansion + heat + humidity + time; all parameters strictly controlled and automatically maintained by this machine
• the combined surface yield obtained is very good (1.5 - 6%) although it largely depends on how the previous drying operations took place not to mention the likelihood of the article to be more or less prone to the loose grain
• due to the aforementioned reasons, the cutting yield obtained may largely outpace although
• significant physical area yield

AVAILABLE IN CONFIGURATION UP TO 170 FRAMES WE COULD DEFINE IT AS THE MISSING LINK OR THE COMPLETION OF A TRAVEL STARTED WITH THE MODIFICATIONS ASKED BY OUR CUSTOMERS AND IMPLEMENTED TO MAKE THE MACH ALSO SUITABLE FOR DRYING DAMP LEATHERS. IN FACT, IN ITS FINAL CONFIGURATION, THE ZEPHYRUS IS A UNIQUE MACHINE IN THE WORLD THAT COMBINES THE PRODUCTIVITY AND DRYING EFFICIENCY OF A CAROUSEL FRAME DRYER WITH THE VERSATILITY AND ERGONOMICS OF A HORIZONTAL-FRAME ONE.

IT IS EQUIPPED AS STANDARD WITH:

• special sensors for detecting the moisture content of the hides in percentage, both in and out of the oven
• heat recovery and/or air dehumidification units for automatic adjustment of the air ideal hygrometric level based on the set recipe
• additional internal circuit for the air swap and automatic maintenance of the moisture set at the outlet
• frame expansion made in four steps and adjustable both in cm and kg for a real control of the traction exerted on the leather fibers according to the article

Thanks to these characteristics the leathers come out of the machine perfectly flat and consistently dry keeping the desired residual moisture, soft and already conditioned, having been dried in a ventilated and low temperature environment. The awareness that it is in fact necessary to work with temperatures close to but never above 38-40°C to preserve the natural quality of the leather and avoid unwanted areas of grain looseness, has brought the evolution of this machine to levels never achieved before. The possibility of using, upon request, the SENSATION system for finished leathers too, makes the Mach Zephyrus without parallel in the current panorama of frame drying machines.
